Astroids, Meteors and Comets

Focus question number #1 what is a comet?
Answer: Comets are space snowballs made from frozen gases and dust. The are roughly the size of a small town.



Focus question number #2 what is a Astroid?
Answer: An asteroid is basiclly a small rock in outer space. Some may be giant, but the average are a little bit smaller than a house.



Focus question number #3 what is a Meteor
Answer: A small body of rock that enters Earth atmosphere looking like a streak of light. A meteor is a part broken off a astroid or a comet, then it orbits the sun. Then it heats up and goes straight toward earth but we see it as a shooting star or a falling star but it doesn't hit us and heats up and blow up it stops to heat when its closer to earth.



Focus question number #4 would it be safe to fly through a tail of a comet?
Answer: As you may see in movies, comets are huge and look extremely vicious rocks but it would be very safe. The only things that would hit your ship would be microscopic pieces of dust.




Focus question number #5 how big is a comet?
Answer: A comets Nuclues is about 1 to 10 kilometers (0.6 to 6 miles) across. The tail ca stretch about tens of millions of kilometers.(definition of nuclues: The center of the object, most important part)


Focus question number # 6 how much did the biggest meteor weigh?
Answer: its known as the hoba weighing a amazing 60 tons. But all meteors come in different sizes.
